This is going to be a quick and dirty post. Also known as “bad work.” But, the kind of work you need to do anyway to keep going.
So what happened in August 2018?
Well, I promised 4 articles per site.

Hit the goal for this one. 4 new articles in. But, not all is well. As you can see, traffic dipped by quite a bit from July to August.
Time to panic?
Well, not yet. This is where you take a look at the long term and see how you fare in the grand scheme. Still up? Or on the way down? Okay for now.
Also, word on the street is “the Googles” did an update in August which may or may not be a factor.

4 article goal not hit.
Traffic? Up a bit! Better than last month.
Challenges
Last time, I also mentioned a few key articles taking hits in traffic. The kind that bring in the dosh. So, I went and beefed up one. The results? More than double the improvement!
I’ll go ahead and update a few of the other ones.
The lesson here? Update your articles for SEO purposes and you’ll get more traffic.
Books I’m reading
— Triggers by Joe Sugarman. Done.
— Basic Physics: A Self-Teaching Guide. Still going through it. And it may be a while. I realize that reading textbooks and books that require you to backtrack is not easy. If there’s anywhere the Kindle fails, it’s with scanning through the book with ease.
— Discipline Equals Freedom by Jocko Willink. Done.
Persisting (Helpful) Thoughts of August 2018
Seeing as how this month’s entry is a quick and dirty version, I won’t write much.
But, I’ll write this:
Reviewing and backtracking is important: I’m a bit biased in favor of the hustle, hustle, push, push, push, get-things-done type of work. Which is great and all but there’s a lot more value in coming back to review said work. There are hundred-dollar, thousand-dollar and perhaps million-dollar nuggets sitting in there. Not immediately obvious, but they’re there. They just require 1) the same amount of time that I’d use on the hustle-hustle type of work, 2) patience and 3) action based on the conclusions you pull. Again, which is why I write this.
Goals for September 2018
For Aug 2018, I’ll do 4 per site again.
